Loan Forgiveness Seminars
Student Loan Forgiveness online trainings
The Degrees Not Debt team will be hosting three webinars during the 2024-25 academic year for all Education Minnesota members. These webinars will cover the basics of student loans, information on Public Service Loan Forgiveness and Teacher Loan Forgiveness and the latest on the student loan court cases. A week after each training, we will hold office hours via Zoom for participants to drop in and get individual assistance with loan questions.

Help available from the state Student Loan Advocate
As a reminder, borrowers in Minnesota have rights under state law and the support of a Student Loan Advocate in the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
The advocate assists borrowers in ensuring that servicing companies meet their obligations to share accurate, timely information as well as review and process complaints borrowers have with their loan servicers. The advocate can also provide representation in cases where loan forgiveness applications are erroneously denied.
We encourage members who have new or ongoing issues with their servicer to reach out to the Student Loan Advocate to ensure your rights are protected. Borrowers may also file complaints using this online form.
Get out and Vote!
Please make a plan to vote, and ask your colleagues what their plan to vote is too! Please check Ed MN Voter Guide to see who the educator endorsed candidates are in your districts.
You can share the website with friends, neighbors, colleagues who want to support Public Education as they vote for legislative positions and school board candidates.
